London Mela

London starts the month of September with an exclusive celebration of music, dance and fun. The London mela is a carnival of Asian culture and creativity. The mela first took place in the year 2003 and since then it has witnessed thousands of Londoners becoming a part this event. It features the best of classical music, Asian theatre acts, cabarets, comedy shows and Bollywood artistes performing colourful dances. The show attracts the Asian and non Asian communities alike. This year the event will be taking place at Gunnersbury Park and the London buses will be operating additional services during the event. The event is expected to start at 1pm and extend late into the night. The most expected show of the event is the spectacular finale inspired by the Indian epic Ramayana. The show is expected to engage pyrotechnics and prove to be a real feast to the eyes.

Scotch Egg Challenge 2013

Food and interesting ways of presenting it has always been a part of the English culture. The Scotch Egg Challenge is the nationís most appealing scotch egg. Chefs from across the country participate in the fun event and cook enough eggs to feed all the hungry foodies watching the show. Eggs are judged based on three parameters - taste, texture and appearance. Individual cook, pubs, restaurants and small food shops will be participating in the event. The event will be taking place on the 17th of September at the Ship. Funds from the event will be used for the charity Action Against Hunger. The NGO helps people fight hunger in some of the poorest countries.

The Great River Race

This September witness the 26th year of the Great River Race along the Thames. The event is expected to attract more than 300 participating boats from different parts of the country and thousands of spectators to witness the fun. The race will start at the London Docklands and run across the Thames for 21 miles. The race finishes at the Ham where visitors can enjoy live music, scrumptious street food and donkey rides. Over the past years the race had grown into one of the most prestigious and remarkable events of Europe. The most interesting feature of the race is the way it combines intense competition and casual fun to produce a perfect family event for both true racers and leisure rowers.

London Fashion Week Exhibition

Taking place at the Somerset House, the one week long event is sure to inject a lot of style into the country. The event will showcase the creativity of the best fashion designers in the industry.
