DEC 24,25 and 26 - 2013

Charles Dickens Museum, Ripley’s London and St. Pauls Cathedral

December is not just a month for festivals and holidays, beyond that it’s the best time of the year for tourists to visit London. But it is very important to avoid planning a visit to the attractions on the following dates: 24th, 25th and 26th of December. Though most of the attractions are open on 24th December, it is not so good to plan a visit on this day, since it will be crowded everywhere and the frequency for the public transport will close earlier. Almost all of the attractions are closed for the Christmas Day (25th December) and there are no tubes and train services. People should make their own arrangements such as booking cabs, hiring taxis or rental cars. So, it is not possible to visit attractions on the Christmas Day. Boxing Day is on the 26th and is a public holiday. A majority of the places are closed completely on 25th and 26th of December. Here is some information on a very few attractions that remain open on the public holidays.

Charles Dickens Museum:

This museum houses manuscripts, paintings and other rare visual objects. The rooms in Dickens’ House are decorated in Victorian style with good interior decors and are not to be missed. Many temporary exhibitions and events for children and families and adults are also held at the Charles Dickens Museum. 24th, 25th and 26th are the best days to visit this museum for a Dickensian Christmas with mulled ciders, minced pies and lots more. The museum is open from 10am to 5pm with last admission by 4pm on 24th, 25th and 26th of December, 2013.

Ripley’s London:

‘Ripley’s believe it or not’ is one of the best things to do in London. The amazing artefacts from around the world make the visitors awestruck. Ripley’s London has 6 floors, 700 exhibits, galleries and lots more. World’s tallest man, Dinosaur eggs, Mirror Gaze, Black Hole, Crocodile Man and lots more are a part of Ripley’s. It is open until 10pm all round the year.

St. Pauls Cathedral:

This is one of the major attractions in London and is not to be missed by tourists. Visitors can climb the steps to visit the Whispering Gallery and Golden Gallery. Sightseeing is allowed on 24th and 26th of December. On 25th, Christmas Day sightseeing is not allowed and people can visit for prayers and Christmas celebrations.
