Here is some information about the events in London for the month of February 2014 including ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’, ‘Taylor Swift-The Red Tour’, Chelsea Physic Garden Snowdrop Days’ and lots more.

Taylor Swift-The Red Tour:

Dates: 1st to 11th February

Seven Time Grammy Award winner Taylor Swift brings the Red Tour to O2 Arena and she performs across multi level stages with a range of costumes, aerialists, dancers and various stunning backdrops. Audiences can expect something big with the incorporation of her electric and acoustic guitar, banjo, piano and more. Taylor Swift is one of the top five selling digital music artists worldwide and she has won the title of the fastest selling digital single for ‘We are never ever getting back together’. This event is set to happen on 1st, 2nd, 4th, 10th and 11th of February.

London’s Chinese New Year:

Date: 2nd February

The Chinese New Year falls on 31st January and is celebrated on the following Sunday in London. Celebrations take place on 2nd February, Sunday in Chinatown, Trafalgar Square, Leicester Square and Shaftesbury Avenue. A parade starts at Duncannon Street at 10am and moves to Shaftesbury Avenue and Charing Cross Road. Dragon dancing, music and other performances are set to happen in Trafalgar Square.

Chelsea Physic Garden Snowdrop Days:

Date: 8th to 16th February

The Chelsea Physic Garden is usually closed during winter but visitors can enjoy taking a free guided tour during snowdrop days. The snowdrop extravaganza is celebrated in February every year and you can have a look at a wide selection of snowdrops, winter flowering plants, many nurseries and lots more. Visitors can also shop for gifts related to a garden; relish brunch, warming stew, mulled wine and lots more. You can visit anytime between 10am to 4pm.

Strictly Come Dancing Live 2014:

Date: 8th and 9th February

The famous BBC television show ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ is brought back onto the stages in 2014 and is directed by Judge Craig Revel Horwood. This live show features performances from 2013’s most popular celebrity and professional pairings, routines by professionals and lots more. Soap Star Lisa Riley will host Strictly Come Dancing Live 2014.

Imagine Children’s Festival:

Date: 10th to 24th February

Imagine Children’s festival is the annual children’s literature festival and is held at Southbank Centre. Reading, storytelling, beatboxing, poetry, music, magic, plays, performances and many other literary events and activities are a part of Imagine Children’s Festival.

Strange Beauty: Masters of the German Renaissance

Date: 19 February to 24th May

Strange Beauty: Masters of the German Renaissance is a collaboration of the National Gallery and the University of New York. This exhibition focuses on some of the famous artists including Albrecht Durer, Hans Holbein the Younger and Lucas Cranach the Elder. Evolution of the perception of German Renaissance art will also be examined. Some viewers admired the artists’ technical mastery and others considered it as excessive and ugly.
