Stansted Airport is the UK’s third busiest and London’s third largest airport. It serves as hub for many low cost carriers. Currently, BAA owns and operates the airport. The airport has 1 terminal serving European flights and domestic UK flights and some continental flights. Stansted Airport is the newest of all passenger airports in London.
Stansted Airport doesn’t have any gates in the terminal building. The layout of the airport is in such a way to help travelers to arrive at the short-stay car park, get into the check-in hall, and get through security and on to the departure gates all on the same level. The airport has three separate satellite buildings with doors and the buildings are connected to the terminal. A fourth satellite building is currently under construction. The terminal has facilities for travelers like luggage services, internet access and bureaux de change to help travelers. There is a multifaith prayer room in the terminal for worship. More than 60 shops, restaurants, bars, cafes and lounges are available in the terminal.
Stansted Airport is well connected to London and transportation facilities are excellent from the airport to other destinations in London and the entire United Kingdom. Stansted Airport has many luxurious four and five star hotels and accommodation is good. Buses, trains, cabs and taxis are available to the city and other destinations. Travelers do not have to worry about any kind of last minute glitches.
